Best Community Experiences💜

It's not a faith in technology. It's faith in people

"Hello beautiful people, in this blog post, I am sharing my personal stories and experiences throughout the journey, from the online to the offline. So, let's buckle up and embark on this journey together!"

CommunityClassroom formerly WeMakeDevs

Hey there! So before I start some context picture this: I was a newbie back in my Freshman year, just chilling and watching some roadmap videos, when I stumbled upon a Git/Github tutorial that caught my eye. I was hooked! The teaching was top-notch, and I wanted to learn more, so I went on a deep dive, I dug deep and discovered some old Kunal Kushwaha videos. Boy, those were the days!

Let me tell you, those Kunal Kushwaha videos were a game-changer! His practical and logical approach spoke to me, especially since he also came from a Tier-3 college like me. I was so intrigued, I started learning more about communities, and let me tell you, it's like a whole different world out there! Now, I have played with a bunch of different fields like - Web-Dev, AI/ML, Backend, AR/VR, you name it. But nothing really excited me, to be honest.

Somehow I stumbled upon DevOps, and it was quite a challenge! something new, and not many people knew about it. It was like discovering a hidden gem, and I knew I had to learn more! So One day, I was chatting with some like-minded folks on the WeMakeDevs Discord server (formerly known as Community Classroom), and we were all discussing the best ways to get into DevOps. We talked about a lot of things about where to start, what to study and from where to study. That's when I discovered some amazing folks and communities like Saiyam Pathak, TechwithNana, EddieHub, CNCF, and many others. These communities were packed with valuable insights, and I couldn't get enough of them!

And you know what the best part is? Thanks to Community Classroom, I was able to connect with like-minded individuals from all over the world. It was amazing to see how these communities were not restricted to just one place, but instead, they spanned the entire globe!

As I started learning more about DevOps, I discovered some amazing new technologies and communities that were specific to certain topics and challenges. And let me tell you, it was a game-changer!

It would be altogether very different if I would not found out about Kunal during my freshman year. Hand's down the best community to get into for a freshman or who's starting in tech. Honestly, if it weren't for discovering Kunal during my freshman year, I don't know where I would be right now. Community Classroom is hands down the best community for anyone starting in tech, especially if you're a freshman like I was. It's the perfect way to get your feet wet and start exploring all the amazing things tech has to offer!

Hack This Fall (My First Meetup Ever):

Alright, get this! I had never been to a tech meetup before, some of my online friends told me about HackthisFall happening in Mumbai. And you know what got me excited? The promise of free food! "Ki free khana mil rha hai jate hai" I said to my college friends, so we registered and went.
When we got there, it was chaos! There were so many people, and I didn't know what to do or who to talk to. But slowly during the networking, people started approaching each other and introducing themselves. And let me tell you, this was the first time I talked to so many people IRL!
HackthisFall was a game-changer for me. Not only did I get to meet some amazing people, but I also got to learn about what they were building and working on. And let's not forget about the food - it was amazing! 🍲❤️

So, moral of the story? Don't underestimate the power of a good meetup, especially when there's free food involved!

Saiyam Pathak & Kubesimplify (DevOps & Blogging Journey)

I discovered Saiyam Pathak and his amazing content around DevOps and Cloud-Native Technologies. He had just launched an ambassador program for Kubesimplify, and I was lucky enough to be one of the starting ambassadors. Even though I had to leave, I met some amazing people through the program. It was a truly inspiring experience!

I took a leap and wrote my very first blog post ever. It was about Git and GitHub, and I poured my heart and soul into every word. To my amazement, the response from the community was fantastic!

Also bragged a lot about it, it was fun, anyways😂

LumosLabs (A Web3 Metaverse Company)

If you're in tech and never heard about Web3 you must be living under a rock. Lumos were the first few who introduced me to the web3 ecosystem. I met one of the B.D guys of Lumos in a tech meetup in Mumbai. I had heard a little bit about web3 before, but I didn't really understand it until I talked to this guy. Got me to start learning more about Web3, How it works what is the use case, and How it's different from Web2?
Not gonna lie Web3 companies have the best designers and the best community managers. I used to attend community calls where it was open discussions about web3, quizzes and fun evening games. Later on, we collaborated and arranged sessions in different colleges it was an altogether new experience.

DevelopersHigh formerly Developers Club

The team behind DevelopersHigh, which includes me and three other friends, started the community as a way to give back and inspire others in our college to get involved in open source and learn new technologies. Even though I used to be an introvert, I pushed myself to take my first session on Git/GitHub and we never looked back.

Later on, we collaborated with Web3Bharat, LumosLabs , AtSign & PostmanAPI to arrange our meetups and sessions. Received lots of love & praise from teachers and students.

A short thread of what all we did👇

Being at the forefront you get to learn a lot of things, from managing events to public speaking and a lot more.

Ending Note:

Being part of a community has truly been a transformative experience for me. I've met so many amazing people, not just in the tech industry, but also in the wider world of web3. One of the highlights was being able to attend Web3Goa, an incredible opportunity that I'll never forget.
But it's not just about cool experiences or networking opportunities. Being part of a community has also helped me grow as a person, giving me the confidence to step outside my comfort zone and try new things. It's amazing to think that I've gone from being a shy introvert to a confident speaker and event organizer, all thanks to the support and encouragement of my community.

There were many challenges and nights without sleep looking back I am proud that I took the step also I'm truly grateful for the love and support I've received, and I'm excited to see where this journey takes me next.

Thank you for reading🙏.
